Many people don’t like the taste of millet, especially children 😅. Eating more whole grains is good for health 🌿, but they often can’t accept its taste 🤢. The pumpkin millet porridge I introduced is called the popular version because it blends the taste of pumpkin into millet 🎃, and the color of “two yellows” makes people want to eat it visually 😋. The taste is delicate, especially for children 👶. If you have a cute baby who doesn’t like whole grains, you might as well try this porridge 🥣💛!
Ingredients
Millet: 100g
Pumpkin: 500g
Water: appropriate amount
How to make pumpkin millet porridge
1.Put the millet into the pot, and add a little more water, the water will evaporate. I choose to use a ceramic pot to simmer slowly over low heat, soak the millet overnight, and it will save time to boil it in the morning.
2.Wash the pumpkin, cut it into small pieces, and steam it in a steamer over high heat for ten minutes. The smaller the pieces, the easier it is to cook thoroughly. After steaming, some water will overflow from the pumpkin in the bowl. This water is the essence of the pumpkin and can be directly poured into the millet porridge.
3.When the millet porridge becomes a paste, put the pumpkin into a mud press and mash it into the porridge. If you don’t have a mud press, you can just use a spoon to mash it. This step is very important. The color and taste come from it. Don’t be lazy, don’t be lazy, don’t be lazy.
4.After the two are completely evenly mixed, you can turn off the heat and use the residual heat of the ceramic pot to let them blend freely in the pot. After 5 or 6 minutes, you can serve it.
**Tips**:
1. The amount of pumpkin is up to you, the more the better 🎃. When buying pumpkins, be sure to choose those with a yellower cut surface, as these pumpkins are generally very sweet 🍯. This porridge does not require sugar, but if you don’t choose the right pumpkin, then add it yourself. Anyway, eat less sugar 🍬🚫, otherwise the flesh on your body will tightly surround you 😅🏃♀️.
2. Some friends have reported that brown sugar can be added, but I personally don’t like the color of brown sugar to destroy the yellow color of the pumpkin 🌟.
